We are a leading plastic surgery and dermatology practice, offering a wide range of surgical and non-surgical procedures to enhance the appearance and health of our patients.
We are looking for a medical assistant who can perform both front office and back office duties, and provide exceptional customer service and clinical support.
As a medical assistant, you will be responsible for:
* *Greeting and checking in patients* with a friendly and professional attitude
* *Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information* in patient charts using an iPad
* *Preparing and sterilizing exam rooms and instruments* and ensuring compliance with infection control standards
* *Assisting the physician with procedures* such as suture removal, specimen collection, wound care, injections, etc.
* *Photographing patients* before and after treatments using standardized protocols
* *Managing patient flow* and ensuring timely and efficient service
* *Ordering and reminding patients of prescriptions* and refills as needed
* *Keeping track of and entering the results of imaging studies, lab tests, and pathology reports* in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
* *Working with insurance companies and coding specialists* to verify coverage, obtain authorizations, and process claims
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* *Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a similar role*, preferably in a plastic surgery or dermatology setting
* *Knowledge of plastic surgery and dermatology medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis*
* *Proficiency in EMR systems*, preferably Modernizing Medicine
* *Excellent oral and written communication skills* and attention to detail
* *Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure* in a fast-paced environment
* *A high school diploma or equivalent*.
A certification or degree in medical assisting is preferred
