Position Overview:
Facilities Manager/ Director of Operation is responsible for establishing and executing an effective compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
Working in collaboration with the Corporate Compliance Committee, the Facility Manager/ Director of Operations has the authority to take necessary actions to ensure the attainment of the compliance program's objectives.
This role involves managing support staff, including culinary, housekeeping, drivers, maintenance, and residential recovery specialists, to maintain a therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the compliance program and the support staff.
Develop and periodically review and update Standards of Conduct to ensure they provide relevant guidance to management and employees.
Collaborate with various departments (HR, Clinical, Medical, and Nursing) to address compliance issues through appropriate channels.
Respond to reported violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct by initiating investigative procedures as necessary.
Ensure consistent handling of such violations.
Act as an independent reviewer and evaluator to ensure that compliance issues and concerns are appropriately addressed within the organization.
Identify potential areas of compliance risk and vulnerability, implement corrective action plans, and provide guidance on preventing or addressing similar situations.
Provide regular reports to senior management on compliance efforts and progress.
Schedule mandated meetings with licensing boards for review "teams" and employee panels, managing the associated documentation.
Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments to develop an effective compliance training program for employees and managers.
Continuously monitor the performance of the Compliance Program and related activities, taking steps to enhance its effectiveness.
Coordinate plant activities in line with facility objectives, optimizing cost-effective systems.
Manage capital asset maintenance, asset inventory, and report depreciation costs.
Oversee overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
Project expected repairs and costs on a yearly, quarterly, monthly, and weekly basis.
Control and minimize labor time.
Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment, making adjustments or replacements as needed.
Provide leadership and training to achieve company goals.
Implement and maintain preventive plant maintenance programs, including lawn care, sewage systems, and fire emergency systems.
Organize and prioritize repair orders and operational demands to maintain a safe, clean, reliable, and efficient fleet and equipment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
Proficiency in computer skills.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Knowledge of licensing regulations and standards preferred.
Demonstrated leadership and effective oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with healthcare laws, regulations, and standards.
Understanding of coding and reimbursement systems, risk management, and performance improvement is helpful.
Ability to perform repairs and manage facilities to meet code and regulatory standards with minimal assistance from outside contractors.
Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, and general licensing standards preferred.
Ability to conduct audits in multiple departments to ensure facility compliance with auditing/licensing agencies.
