YOUR DAY-TO-DAY Reporting to this position are supervisors responsible for warehouse workers (including but not limited to, picking/packing, inventory control, material handlers, receiving, shipping).
Responsibilities: Has general responsibility for coordinating all warehouse activities on a daily, shift or team basis.
Responsible for leading and developing supervision who are responsible for the receiving, put away, replenishment, picking, packing, and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Help establish work standards.
Ensure that the standards are utilized to measure warehouse associate performance, holding warehouse supervision accountable for managing these activities.
Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in leading, supervising, coaching and developing supervision.
Provide input into performance evaluation for recommending promotions, wage increases, and supervision development.
Manage the supervisors responsible for picking and staging of inbound and outbound shipments in accordance with high level of productivity.
Verify required outbound orders, ensuring that all product is properly processed in a timely and efficient manner while meeting all shipment and compliance requirements.
Create daily, and weekly plans and hold your team responsible for meeting such plans.
Attend warehouse planning meetings.
Act as liaison between departments.
Communicate safety, sales trends, operational stats.
Communicate industry and brand knowledge to supervisors.
Communicate clearly with your supervisors, ensuring they align with your expectations.
Ensure that all records and reports regarding warehouse activity are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained.
These are related to daily KPI’s, operational stats, and safety.
Ensure safety and employee welfare is top priority.
Review warehouse operations daily to ensure the warehouse is neat and well organized and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented.
Ensure that all safety procedures and policies are followed.
Ensure your team plays a part in inventory control, audit pick / pack, receiving, shipping accuracy.
Assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts as required.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
College degree and/or relevant certification preferred Must have 3 - 5 years of distribution management experience.
The experience should include managing people.
Knowledge/Skills: Requires demonstrated skills in leadership, organization, and communication.
Also required is an understanding of, warehousing operations.
Familiarity with computer systems, warehouse systems and computerized scanning equipment is a plus.
Microsoft suite experience required.
Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.
Must be able to use proper techniques to lift 50 pounds.
Emphasis on safety is extremely important.
Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements.
Must be able to shift priorities easily.
Must have responsible work habits.
Must pass the drug test and a background check.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
Must be available for overtime work daily and weekends as needed by volume of orders.
