Job Description:
Supervise banquet servers/bartenders on the floor, make sure food is presented neatly, served on time and that all functions are coordinated properly.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for controlling all aspects in the execution of banquet functions.
Read and understand BEOs
Effectively supervise and coordinating the Banquet staff during all food and beverage service.
Effectively communicate with Culinary staff and other management staff to ensure success of all functions.
Responsible for adhering to property/company policies and procedures.
Responsible for adhering to all liquor liability laws.
Responsible for all accurate billing, to include Micros and Delphi postings and all liquor consumption reports.
Must assist/conduct all designated staff/pre-function meetings.
Computer Skills, (Outlook, Delphi, Excel)
Attending all property/department meetings.
Assist the Banquet Manager in the complete operation of the Banquet Department.
To know all general information about the property and be able to accurately answer all guests’ questions.
To know the layout of the property and all meeting room names and locations.
Computer, coffee maker/urn, toaster, , beverage machines, bus trays, dishware, silverware, glassware, queen-mary cart, telephone, pen/pencil, Micros
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of banquet or fine dining serving experience; banquet experience strongly preferred.
Previous experience with standard table sets and serving etiquette required.
Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations and have previous cash handling experience.
Must be familiar with BEO’s, Banquet Checks and Banquet Room Sets.
Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
Must have experience in handling beverages.
Must be actively Food Handlers Certified and ServSafe Alcohol Certified.
Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.
Must be able to carry a banquet serving tray, filled to capacity, overhead/on shoulder.
