The Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island (the “Club”) is a *501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving approximately 200+ children and teens daily with *a wide variety of educational, recreational, cultural and enrichment activities as after-school programs during the school year, full day programs during the summer, and a Saturday learning camp for those who need extra help in school.
Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
*General Function:*
This position is responsible for safely bringing students to and from club related activities, field trips, and outings.
In addition, this position also assists with student management for field trips that require lower rations.
In this role, you will support the Club and program directors, along with other department heads as needed to ensure that all aspects of the transportation and vehicle maintenance are maintained.
You will exhibit professionalism, integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of staff, parent, volunteer, members and community relations.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Club Director, you will also have responsibility for the overall management of the needs of the transportation department.
To be successful in this position, candidates must have an interest in working for a non-profit organization and supporting its community driven mission; must be comfortable working in a busy work environment, love children, work well as part of a team, and have a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
*Job Responsibilities:*
· Manage fuel level in vehicle
· Be mindful of expected maintenance and communicate needs to supervisor
· Manage cleanliness of vehicle
· Track mileage and trips for corporate
· Assist with member management for select field trips
· Transport students, staff, volunteers, or other stakeholders safely from one destination to another
· Use approved navigation programs to determine best route
· Enact defensive driving tactics
· Comply with all driving and traffic laws
*Required Skills:*
· Proven track record of reliability, punctuality and attendance; have exceptional multi-tasking abilities and take pride in maintaining a highly organized vehicle
· Ability to maintain records of transport
· Ability to manage students from Kindergarten through high schoo
· Ability to interact professionally with Club staff, subordinates, board members, volunteers and vendors.
· Ability to work independently as well as collaborate as part of a team.
· Very detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
*Education and Experience:*
· High school diploma
· Database management and report generation
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
· Be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Request for Verification
· Must have reliable transportation, a valid SC driver’s license in good standing and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.
*Physical Demands:*
A driver must be able to drive for several hours at a time.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but behavior management strategies must be used.
Must pass background check and drug screening
Must possess valid driver’s license and be in good standing with the Division of Motor Vehicle.

Summer Hours Vary: Monday – Friday only- June 22-August 3 -schedule provided weeks in advance (typical day would be 8:15-2:00pm).
